Ecology. Anecic species with records from grassland sites ( Eggert 1982). Occurs mainly under forest litter ( Sims & Gerard 1999).

Zoogeographical distribution type. Western European distribution: Great Britain, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland ( Sims & Gerard 1999), Ireland, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Andorra ( Rota 2014: Fauna Europaea). Introduced into North America ( Csuzdi & Szlávecz 2003).

Distribution in Germany. Central Germany ( Eggert 1982); southern Germany ( Graff 1958; Sommer et al. 2002).
