Since the type species of Canastota ( Sableta (C.) canadensis Casey 1910 , by original designation) is a synonym with S. marginella ( Casey 1893) (the type species of Silusida , by subsequent designation, Fenyes 1918:25), the name Canastota becomes a junior synonym of Silusida .
