Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase and nitrate reduction in API 20NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production and urease. Utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, L-arabinose, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and trisodium citrate, but not utilize adipic acid, capric acid, phenylacetic acid and potassium gluconate.
