Description of Kocuria rhizophila BT View in CoL 304

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated, non-pigmented and coccus-shaped. Colonies are circular and lighy yellow colored after 3 days on BHIA at 37°C. Negative for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, β - galactosidase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20NE. Utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate are utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, capric acid and D-mannitol. Strain BT304 (= NIBRBAC000497862) has been isolated from Gut of Korean native cattle, Korea.
