Positive for esculin hydrolysis, glucose fermentation and urease in API 20NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, β -galactosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, Indole production and nitrate reduction. Does not utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, capric acid, malic acid, D-mannitol, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate, but utilize D-glucose, D-maltose, D-mannose and potassium gluconate.
