Opercularia minima Kahl, 1935

Records on hydrachnid mites: Kahl (1935) described the species, which found on legs of freshwater aquatic mites (without host identification) from Germany.

New finds: In the present paper we report the following new records of Opercularia minima:

Locality: Valley of Krąpiel river near Dalewo, Poland (53°23'01.1"N, 15°10'18.3"E); biotope: oxbow, 0.5 m depth, Glyceria sp.undergrowth; host species: Arrenurus bicuspidator Berlese, 1885; localization: legs; Intensity: 1 ciliate per host individual. Date of collection 15.10.2010, collector: А. Zawal.

Remarks: This species was registered in activated sludge of a treatment facilities plant in Lublin and Świdnik ( Poland) ( Jaromin-Gleń et al. 2013; Babko et al. 2014).

This species was also reported by Safi et al. (2014) at artificial substrates (glass slides) deployed in Guaiba Lake in Brasilia, Brazil.
