Record on hydrachnid mites: Ramadan (2004) reported Tokophrya quadripartita on adult mites Unionicola tetrafurcatus Ramadan & Аboul-Dahab, 2002 associated with the mussel Caelatura aegyptiaca Cailliaud, 1827 collected from a site on the eastern bank of the River Nile, north of Sohag University Campus, Egypt. The highest mean density of ciliates was recorded on the fourth leg of the mite and declined gradually towards the first leg, which recorded the lowest mean number and attached to the bases of the setae on the legs of the mite ( Ramadan 2004).

Other hosts: The species was reported on the copepod Cyclops and other substrata (Curds 1985); on the copepods Limnocalanus macrurus Sars, 1863 and Epischura lacustris Forbes, 1882 from Lake Michigan ( U.S.А.) (Evans et al. 1979, 1981). It was also reported on the copepods Eucyclops agilis (Koch, 1838) and Cyclops bicuspidatus Claus, 1857 from Lake Аshmore, Illinois ( U.S.А.) ( Henebry & Ridgeway 1979); on the uropods of the European crayfish Astacus leptodactylus (cf. Matthes & Guhl 1973); on the decapod Cambarellus patzcuarensis Villalobos, 1943 (cf. Mayen-Estrada & Аladro-Lubel 1998) and on Lethocerus sp. from Mexico near Grutas de la Estrella, Ixtapan de la Sal, State of Mexico ( Mariño-Pérez et al. 2011).
