Diagnosis. Recognised by the following combination of characters: apterous; medium-sized (~ 12–13 mm); body surface covered with minute tubercles; eyes small; anteocular region of head swollen; clypeus lacking spine; labium straight; two rows of setigerous spines on ventral surface of forefemur of varying lengths, with basal-most spine of ventrolateral series the largest. Similar to Bargylia , but differing in the straight labium, shorter metanotum, and the aedeagus lacking “elongate struts” (see Wygodzinsky 1966: Figs. 159L–M).
