Diagnosis. This genus is recognised by the following combination of characters: pale colour, wool-like pile absent, scutellar and metanotal spines present, macropterous, forewing with two closed cells (subbasal and discal), discal cell short and triangular, pterostigma surpassing apex of discal cell, forefemora with dorsal tufts of setae, two-segmented foretarsi and first abdominal tergal spine absent.
Remarks. Three species of Tridemula are presently recorded from Australia: T. contumax Wygodzinsky & Usinger , T. metabates Wygodzinsky , and T. pilosa Horváth ( Tatarnic et al. 2011) .
