Taxonomy. FEuroscaptor kuznetsovi Zem- lemerova et al, 2016,

“VIETNAM, Vinh Phuc Province, vicinity of Tam Dao,

21°27°06”N, 105°38’09”E, altitude 750 m 2.8.1.”

Euroscaptor kuznetsovi was formerly part of E. longirostris but was separated based on molecular data. Monotypic.

Distribution. NE Vietnam (Cao Bang and Vinh Phuc provinces), also S China (recently found in Yunnan and Jiangxi). View Figure

Descriptive notes. Head-body 117-136 mm, tail 14-17 mm, hindfoot 14-5-16-5 mm; weight 42-3-76-7 g. Tail of Kuznetsov’s Mole is 11:6-14-5% of head-body length. It has a large, elongated body. Skull has long, narrow rostrum. Tail is club-shaped, evenly covered with long hairs. Pelage is blackish brown throughout.

Habitat. Mountains at elevations of 750-950 m. Kuznetsov’s Mole can be sympatric with La Touche’s Mole ( Mogera latouchei), but it can occur at higher elevations.

Food and Feeding. No information.

Breeding. One pregnant Kuznetsov’s Mole collected in September had three fetuses.

Activity patterns. Kuznetsov’s Mole is fossorial.

Movements, Home range and Social organization. No information.

Status and Conservation. Not assessed on The IUCN Red List.
