( Fig. 37 View FIGURE 37 )
Arrenurus simplex Koenike, 1904
Material examined: 6 larvae deriving from 1 female.
Larvae medium-sized: idiosoma 190–210 µm long.
Dorsum: Dp intermediate in size (DpL: 186–200 µm; DpW: 148–168 µm), oval, widest at mid-length. Anterior margin almost straight; posterior margin terminated fairly bluntly. Antero-lateral indents small, somewhat obtuse-angled, about 1/7 and 1/4 of dorsal plate length and width, respectively. DpW/Mp1-Mp1 3.5. Lp2, Mh1 smooth. Mp1-Mp1 intermediate (44–48 µm), equal to Mp2-Mp2 (45–50 µm); Mp1-Lp2 small (30–36 µm). Venter: CpIIm (31–35 µm) and CpIIIm (29–34 µm) equal length; CpIm twice as long (63–67 µm). C2, C3 bipectinate; C1, C4 pectinate, located relatively close to inner margins of Cp; C1-CpIm (14–18 µm) about 2/3 of C4-CpIIIm (22–26 µm). C1-C2 long (50–56 µm). Expp rhomboid, somewhat wider than long. Exp located below plate’s mid-point and below E2. E1 situated relatively close to anterior margin of Expp. Palps: PIII 1 bipectinate; PV6 short, thick. Chelicerae: First segment (78–84 µm) distinctly bent, margins strongly converging anteriorly. Legs: Shorter than body; LI= LII < LIII ( Fig. 6). ITi8 thin, short. IITi10 very long, smooth, located at 1/3 of distance to distal end of tibia; IIITi10 thick, short, pectinate, located near distal end of tibia. IIITa11, IIITa12 smooth; IIITa13 pectinate. Hosts: Culicidae (Münchberg 1936, 1937).
