– Both sexes: head not so high (not more than 1.7 times as high as wide in male, 1.4 times in female, except in E. clypearis and E. dolichocephalus , the heads of which are narrower); malar space much shorter, usually linear; cardo and maxillary palp shorter; propodeum short, its dorsal surface 1.3–1.5 times as long as scutellum, about as long as metanotum or somewhat longer. Male: 2nd flagellomere at most 1.4 times as long as its diameter, discs of S2–S4 with relatively long and dense erect hairs .....................................................................................................................19.
