Munidopsis serratifrons ( A. Milne-Edwards, 1880)

Munidopsis serratifrons has previously been reported as Galathodes serratifrons (see Baba et al. 2008). This species has been reported from the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 604 to 1967 m ( Milne-Edwards 1880; Henderson 1888; Chace 1942). Six specimens of M. serratifrons were available from collections: five males (two measured, CW from 4.4 mm and 9.5 mm) and one ovigerous female (CW = 6.3 mm; eggs were not measured). All specimens were collected in the Gulf of Mexico in January, April, and May from depths of 325 to 897 m.
