Munidopsis spinoculata ( A. Milne-Edwards, 1880)

Munidopsis spinoculata has been reported as Orophorhynchus spinoculatus (see Baba et al. 2008) and has a distribution from the Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 778 to 1738 m ( Milne-Edwards 1880; Pequegnat & Pequegnat 1970, 1971). Eight specimens were analyzed with CW from 2.8 to 8.8 mm, but only one female was ovigerous (CW = 6.7 mm, 10 eggs, average egg diameter 1.28 mm). All specimens were from the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 833 to 1371 m.
