1. Copris costaricensis Gahan, 1894 View in CoL occurs from Mexico to Panama ( Fuentes 2009; Schoolmeesters 2020). In El Salvador, the species was onlY known from Tonacatepeque (department San Salvador) and Parque Nacional El Imposible (department Ahuachapán) ( Fuentes 2009; Pablo-Cea et al. 2020). This is the first record in the department of La Libertad.
