Phyllhermannia eusetosa Lee, 1985 View in CoL
( Fig. 34g)
Phyllhermannia eusetosa Lee, 1985, p. 62 View in CoL , figs. 27–32.
Legs: Femur I 195 µm long, with small posteriolateral projection proximally; medial projection absent ( Fig. 34g). Cuticle lightly alveolate. Setae d and l ” smooth, squat, narrowly phylliform, curved and pointed (22 µm); seta l ' same length but broader than others. Seta v ' longest (30 µm).
Material examined. Three females, ANIC 1539 About ANIC , Eucalyptus and grass litter, Pill Box Track, Cleland Conservation Park , 16 km SE Adelaide, South Australia, 34°58'S 138°42'E., 500 m., coll. D.S. Chandler, 25.iv.1993 GoogleMaps .
Remarks. Phyllhermannia eusetosa can be differentiated from other member of the genus based on the following combination of characters: 1) the smooth, curved, pointed lamellar, interlamellar and notogastral setae; 2) the presence of a pair of semi-circular thickened ridges of cuticle on the notogaster posterior to the c series setae; 3) the faint interbothridial ridge; 4) the posterior prodorsum densely punctate but not divided medially; 5) the notogastral setae with broad, flat tubercules, but without a network of minute lines of tubercles; 6) the epimeral setal formula 3-1-4-5.
The specimens from Cleland Conservation Park have slightly longer, more tapered notogastral setae than those illustrated by Lee (1985) from Mount Lofty. Lee (1985) considered P. eusetosa lacks an interbothridial ridge. In fact a faint ridge is present, as is a densely-punctate zone posterior of the ridge, though it is not divided medially.
