Type Locality: Ghana.
Vernacular Names: Sooty Leaf-nosed Bat.
Distribution: Sierra Leone and Liberia to Dem. Rep. Congo. Ethiopian records represent another, possibly undescribed, species (J. Fahr, pers. comm.).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: bicolor species group.
