4. Acalypha chocoana Cardiel (1994: 201)  . Type : ― COLOMBIA. Chocó : near Madurex Logging camp above Teresita and below the Rapids on R. Truandó , 7˗8 February 1967, J  . A  . Duke 9985 (holotype GH!, isotypes MO!, NY!)  .

Distribution:— America. Western South America: Colombia.

Note:— This species is only known from the type collection from the Chocó rainforest, a biodiversity hotspot on the Pacific slope of the Colombian Andes   .
