ThIs spEcIEs Is sImIlAr tO Selenops oviedo CrEws, 2011 ANd S. bocacanadensis CrEws, 2011 , bOth fOuNd NEArby; hOwEvEr, S. anacaona sp. nov. cAN bE dIffErENtIAtEd by thE GENItAlIA ( FIGs 8–9 View FIGURES 1–12 ). WhIlE thE spErmAthEcAE ArE sImIlAr tO thOsE Of S. bocacandensis , thE EpIGyNE, IN pArtIculAr thE GENItAl OpENING, (smAll, lOcAtEd ANtErOcENtrAlly IN S. bocacandensis , wIdEr, wIth A sclErOtIZEd M-shApEd ArEA IN thE NEw spEcIEs) cAN bE usEd tO dIffErENtIAtE thE spEcIEs; ExtErNAlly, thE GENItAlIA Is sImIlAr tO S. oviedo , but thErE Is AN M-shApEd sclErOtIZEd ArEA IN S. anacaona sp. nov. whIch Is lAckING IN S. oviedo , ANd, INtErNAlly, thE pOstErOdOrsAl fOld ANd spErmAthEcAE ArE shApEd dIffErENtly IN thE NEw spEcIEs.

Life history and habitat preferences. ThIs spEcIEs wAs fOuNd IN dEcIduOus fOrEst ANd thOrN scrub, uNdEr rOcks ANd lOGs. At lEAst 3 OthEr spEcIEs ( Selenops bocacanadensis , S. oviedo , ANd S. insularis ) hAvE bEEN cOllEctEd IN thE ImmEdIAtE vIcINIty (CrEws 2011).
