03DC8794F65F3950DCA1F2DAFDA0FD97.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Males of S. blanda resemble those of S. alayoi (Rheims, Brescovit & Durán-Barrón 2007: figs 44, 45), S. championi F. O. Pickard Cambridge, 1899 (Brescovit & Rheims 2001, figs 14, 15) and S. farri (Alayón 1985: fig. 3) by the tip of the embolus gutter-shaped flanked by small membranes. They are distinguished from those of S. championi by the shorter tip, reaching a fourth of the length of the palp (Figs 3 – 5, 31 – 33) (vs. more than a third in S. championi) and by the absence of a triangular pocket at the base of the retrolateral membrane (vs. present in the other species) and from S. alayoi and S. farri by the larger bulb, roughly as wide as long and stronger constriction at the base of the embolus (Figs, 3, 4, 31, 33) (vs. bulb wider than long and weak constriction in the latter species). Additionally, they are distinguished from S. alayoi by the longer cymbium and embolus with anteriorly wider retrolateral membrane (Figs, 3, 4, 31, 33) (vs. cymbium short and stout and retrolateral membrane narrowed to a pointed tip in S. alayoi) and from S. farri by the shorter tibia, half the length of the cymbium and shorter gutter tip, less than half of the length of the embolus (Figs, 3, 4, 31, 33) (vs. tibia more than half the length of the cymbium and gutter tip more than half the embolus length in S. farri). Females resemble those of S. alayoi Alayón, 1977 (Rheims, Brescovit & Durán Barrón 2007: figs 46, 47), S. farri (Alayón 1985: fig. 4); S. lorenzoi Alayón (Alayón 1977: fig. 5 B) and S. ritae sp. nov. (Figs 120, 121, 134) by the genitalia with straight or curved positioning ridges and vulva with IS hyaline, sac-like with small distal pore plate and IS with short stalk, rounded with scattered pores. They are distinguished from S. lorenzoi and S. ritae sp. nov. by the C-shaped positioning ridges (Fig. 8) (vs. straight in the latter species) and from S. alayoi and S. farri by the positioning ridges separated from each other by four times the width of their fovea (Fig. 8) (vs. twice the width in S. alayoi and eight times in S. farri).	en	Iost, Flora M., Alayón, Giraldo, Rheims, Cristina A. 03DC8794F6593950DCA1F0FFFC84F887.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Females of S. coltranei sp. nov. resemble those of S. cubensis (Figs 19 – 22, 63 – 70), S. jimmorrisoni sp. nov. (Figs 57 – 60, 99), and S. joniae sp. nov. (Figs 75 – 78, 95, 96) by the vulva with S-shaped IS. It differs from all three species by the length of the IS, which is more than four times the length of the OS (Fig. 13) (vs. twice as long in S. cubensis and S. jimmorrisoni sp. nov., and three times as long in S. joniae sp. nov.). It further differs from S. cubensis by the simple, untwisted PS (twisted and coiled in S. cubensis), and from S. jimmorrisoni sp. nov. by the IS being the same width throughout (Fig. 13) (vs. widened at the base in S. jimmorrisoni sp. nov.). 03DC8794F658395CDCA1F6C3FDA1FBAF.taxon	materials_examined	Note. The female of this species was identified by comparison with the examined paratype (MCZ-IZ 24725). Among our examined CarBio material, we found identical females from other localities, but associated with a different male. Thus, we consider the single male paratype from CUBA (Las Tunas Province, Oriente, Guayabal, Amando Rodríguez 20.6955 ºN, 77.6092 ºW, 1 October 1976, L. R. Hernández leg., deposited in ACC / IZ) to be a misidentification and newly describe what we believe to be the true male of S. cubensis. Similarly, the specimen from Mexico that was recorded and redescribed by Brescovit & Rheims (2001) was identified based on the original illustration of the Cuban male paratype and is also considered a misidentification. Although we were not able to examine the Cuban paratype, its illustrated palp appears very similar to that of S. noeli. Nevertheless, the correct identification of these specimens will require further study, including examination of the type material for confirmation. Additional material examined. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. 03DC8794F64B3942DCA1F2DAFAFDF84F.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Males of S. mingusi sp. nov. resemble those S. cubensis (Figs 16 – 18, 61, 62), S. joniae sp. nov. (Figs 73, 74, 97, 98), S. noeli (Alayón, 1992: fig. 3), S. reinhardti sp. nov. (Figs 112, 113, 128, 129) and S. robertoi (Alayón, 1977: fig. 2 C) by the palp with a piriform bulb and a slender, tapering embolus. They are distinguished from the latter species by the embolus thicker at base and filiform at tip (Figs 89, 90, 100, 101) (vs. embolus filiform throughout in the other species). Females of S. mingusi sp. nov. resemble those of S. harrisoni sp. nov. (41, 55, 56) in having a vulva with short and straight IS. They differ from the latter species by having the genitalia with triangular positioning ridges, only slightly wider than long (Fig. 93) (vs. sickle-shaped and more than four times wider than long in S. harrisoni sp. nov.) and by the PS with a median coil and a widened rounded tip (Figs 94, 102 – 105) (vs. PS straight and with the same width throughout in S. harrisoni sp. nov.).	en	Iost, Flora M., Alayón, Giraldo, Rheims, Cristina A.
