Coneucoela brasiliensis Kieffer, 1910, monotypy.

Diagnosis. Coneucoela belongs to the Ganaspini, for this reason we compare it with Odonteucoila and Euxestophaga Gallardo, based on the presence of the elongated posterior margin of the scutellum. Coneucoela presents the following combination of characters: antenna of female with small and subcircular first three or four flagellomeres (F1 longer than wide, shorter than F 2 in Odonteucoila; F1 and F2 longer than wide, subequal in length in Euxestophaga); marginal cell always open and deep (open or closed but not deep in Odonteucoila; closed and deep in Euxestophaga); apical margin of forewings slightly truncate almost rounded (rounded in Odonteucoila and Euxestophaga); scutellar plate broad, in lateral view convex, not elevated above the scutellum (small and in lateral view flat, elevated above the scutellum in Odonteucoila; broad, in lateral view flat, not elevated in Euxestophaga).

Redescription. Body smooth and shiny. Body length in female 1.40-1.60 mm, in male 1.20-1.40 mm. Color. Head, mesosoma and metasoma reddish brown or brown. Antenna brown. Mandibles, legs and wing venation pale brown. Head. In anterior view subcircular with scattered setae. Toruli not projected. Compound eyes glabrous. Inner orbital furrows absent. Malar sulci present. Posterior margin of gena not carinate. Occiput smooth. Vertex smooth. Antenna of female with 13 segments, club consisting of seven or eight flagellomeres; F1 as long as F2 and F3 together; F2, F3 and/or F4 small, subcircular; F4 or F5-F11 subequal in length, longer than wide, with multiporous plate sensillum. Male antennae with 15 segments, filiform, F1 scarcely shorter than F2, scarcely curved and flattened internally; F2-F13 subequal in length, gradually elongated towards the apex; all flagellomeres with multiporous plate sensillum. Pronotum. Pronotal plate small. Medial bridge or narrow of pronotal plate broad with lateral foveae open and deep. Dorsal margin of pronotal plate straight or scarcely emarginated, with setae. Sides of the pronotum smooth with setae behind gena. Mesoscutum. Parapsidal ridges represented by hair lines. Parascutal impression inconspicuous. Notauli absent. Mesoscutellum. Scutellar foveae longer than wide, smooth. Lateral bars of scutellum straight, smooth, with fenestra under them. Dorsal surface of scutellum punctate-rugose or reticulate-rugose, posterior margin of scutellum elongated. Scutellar plate suboval, in lateral view convex almost flat, with setiferous punctures; glandular pit placed close posterior margin of plate. Mesopectus. Mesopleuron smooth. Mesopleural triangle present. Subalar pit shallow. Mesopleurar carinae poorly developed. Precoxal carinae well developed. Metapleural-propodeal complex. Metapleura smooth. Anteroventral cavity circular, setose. Posterior margin of metapleura depressed or scarcely straight in middle portion, without carina, with abundant setae. Propodeum long, setose. Lateral propodeal carinae semi-parallel and separated in middle portion. Wings. Forewings hyaline, with setae on the surface and apical margin with hair fringe; apical margin slightly truncate, almost rounded. Legs. Fore and mid coxa with patch of setae dorsolateral, hind coxa with posterodorsal patch or row of setae. Metasoma. Base of syntergum with hairy ring complete or incomplete dorsally, distally with or without micropunctures.

Biology Coneucoela brasiliensis was reared from Sarcophagula sp. ( Diptera: Sarcophagidae), collected on bovine dung (Díaz et al., 2000).

Distribution.
