038887B5BD40C665FF62D34FFB8AFC82.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Globosolembos smithi (Holmes, 1905) is the only species from the genus previously recorded from Brazilian waters so far (Valério-Berardo & Miyagi 2000). The new species differs from G. smithi as follows (characters of G. smithi within brackets): anteroventral margin of head weakly excavated (vs. margin strongly excavated), anteroventral angle of head produced into a short spine (vs. angle of head produced into a large and acute spine), palms of both male and female gnathopod 2 almost straight (vs. palm sinuous); propodus of gnathopod 2 1.7 x of carpus length (vs. 2 x or more of carpus length); pereopod 7 very long, about 3.0 x longer than length of pereopod 5 (vs. 2 x or less in length); outer ramus of uropod 1 marginally naked, inner ramus with one marginal seta (vs. both rami with two lines of 4 - 5 robust setae); rami of uropod 2 with only one marginal robust seta each (vs. rami with tree robust setae each); and, ramus of uropod 3 setae distally only (with marginal and distal setae). Globosolembos trindadensis sp. nov. superficially resembles G. tiafaui Myers, 1985 from Upolu Island, Western Samoa, in the poorly developed anteroventral corner of head, subovate article 3 of mandibular palp, palm of gnathopods 1 - 2 almost straight, and poorly setose rami of uropods 1 - 3. Nevertheless, the two species can be distinguished as follows (characters for G. tiafaui within brackets): propodus of the gnathopod 2 1.7 x longer than carpus (vs. carpus and propodus subequal in length); sternal ventral processes on the pereonites 3 - 5 triangular and well-developed (vs. process on pereonite 3 well-developed and subacute, on pereonites 4 - 5 poorly developed and rounded); peduncle of uropod 2 with an acute interramal process (vs. lacking interramal process); and inner and outer rami of uropod 3 subequal in length (vs. outer ramus about 1 / 2 of inner ramus).	en	Guedes-Silva, Elkênita, Souza-Filho, Jesser F., Tavares, Marcos (2025): The Amphipoda of the remote oceanic archipelago Trindade and Martin Vaz (Brazil). 038887B5BD45C679FF62D487FE70FF0B.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Lembos is represented in Brazilian waters by only two species so far, L. conicurvae (Oliveira, 1955), described from Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro, and L. hypacanthus K. H. Barnard, 1916, originally described from Sea Point, near Cape Town, South Africa, and much later recorded from Brazil (Oliveira 1955; Wakabara et al. 1991; Valério-Berardo & Miyagi 2000). Lembos quadrispinosus sp. nov. can be separated from L. conicurvae by the shape of the propodus palm of gnathopod 1, which is sinuous and lacks the characteristic excavation near the palmar corner in addition of having the palmar corner poorly developed, while the latter species has wide propodal palm characteristically excavated near the palmar corner, which is defined by two strongly developed spines. Lembos quadrispinosus sp. nov. clearly differs from L. hypacanthus sensu Valério-Berardo & Miyagi (2000) in several aspects (characters of L. hypacanthus within brackets): gnathopod 1 with carpus and propodus weakly setose (vs. carpus and propodus densely setose); palm of the propodus of gnathopod 1 lacking any process and palmar corner defined by a short spine and a short robust seta (vs. palm with a strong midway triangular spine and defined by a large robust seta, Fig. 14 aG 1); gnathopod 2 subchelate (vs. gnathopod 2 simple), anterodistal angle of the basis produced into a blunt spine and lacking a robust seta (vs. not produced and with a robust seta Fig. 14 aG 2), anterior margin of carpus densely setose (vs. anterior margin of carpus weakly setose), pereonites 2 - 5 with a ventral strong, subacute and recurved forward spines (vs. perenoite 2 with a ventral subacute spine, pereonites 3 - 4 with a blunt ventral process) and outer ramus of uropod 3 with long and slender setae on lateral margin (vs. outer ramus of uropod 3 with apical slender setae only). We notice here that in the original description, the basis of the gnathopod 2 has a strong recurved spine at the anterolateral angle (Fig. 14 bG 2), however, this character is absent in the material described from Brazilian waters by Valério-Berardo & Miyagi (2000). Unfortunately, this material is presumed lost and we could not examine it to verify if it is or not a different species either from L. quadrispinosus sp. nov. or L. hypacanthus. Lembos quadrispinosus sp. nov. superficially resembles L. barbatus Mateus & Mateus, 1967, described from Praia Pequena, Principe Island (West Africa), based on an incomplete specimen. The original description of L. barbatus is generally short and only the carpus and propodus of gnathopods 1 and 2 were illustrated (actually L. barbatus may well belong in the genus Autonoe Bruzelius 1859 instead of Lembos, A. Myers pers. comm.). Yet, both species concur in having the propodus of the gnathopod 1 subovate, with palm acute and defined by a spine and a robust seta, in addition of having the gnathopod 2 with carpus and propodus densely setose. The new species can be distinguished from L. barbatus (characters within brackets) in that the gnathopod 1 propodus palm is sinuous, with a poorly developed spine at palmar corner (vs. palm with a rectangular process and a strongly developed spine at the palmar corner); sternal ventral spines on pereonites 2 - 5 subequal in size (vs. ventral spine on pereonite 2 longer than the remaining ones from pereonites 3 - 5). Although based on a single specimen, the unique combination of characters in the Trindade Island specimen clearly suggest it is new.	en	Guedes-Silva, Elkênita, Souza-Filho, Jesser F., Tavares, Marcos (2025): The Amphipoda of the remote oceanic archipelago Trindade and Martin Vaz (Brazil). 038887B5BD5EC672FF62D7E6FADDFA1F.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Two species of Latigammaropsis have been previously recorded from Brazilian waters, L. atlantica (Stebbing, 1888) and L. togoensis (Schellenberg, 1925), both as Gammaropsis Liljeborg, 1855 (Wakabara et al. 1991; Valério-Berardo & Myiagi 2000). Latigammaropsis oliveirai sp. nov. can be distinguished from L. atlantica by a combination of characters (characters of L. atlantica in brackets): accessory flagellum 3 - articulate (vs. accessory flagellum 5 - articulate); propodus of female gnathopod 2 1.6 x longer than wide (vs. gnathopod 2 2 x longer than wide), inclination angle of palm about 37 ° (vs inclination angle of palm about 53 °), palmar corner defined by a weakly developed, subacute spine (vs. a strong acute spine at the palmar corner); and telson with two sets of three robust setae on the dorsal crest (vs. with only one seta on each side). Latigammaropsis oliveirai sp. nov. is readily distinguished from L. togoensis as follows (characters for L. togoensis within brackets): eyes large (vs eyes small); gnathopod 2 of male and female similar in shape (vs. gnathopod 2 propodus in male different from females), and gnathopod 2 with palmar corner defined by a subacute spine and a longer robust seta (vs. palmar corner rounded and with a short robust seta). Latigammaropsis oliveirai sp. nov. superficially resembles L. hermes Myers, 2009, from Lizard Island, Australia, and L. salomanensis Myers, 2014, from the Saloman Atoll, in having lateral cephalic lobe distally rounded, reniform eyes partially within the lateral cephalic lobe, male gnathopod 2 with dactylus fitting palm, and palmar corner defined by a strong spine and a robust seta. However, the new species is easily distinguishable from both species in that the propodus of male gnathopod 2 is ovate, the inclination angle of palm of about 37 °, and the inner ramus of uropod 1 is subequal to article 1 of the outer ramus (vs. in both species, propodus of male gnathopod 2 rectangular, inclination angle of palm of about 67 °, inner ramus of uropod 3 shorter than article 1 of outer ramus).	en	Guedes-Silva, Elkênita, Souza-Filho, Jesser F., Tavares, Marcos (2025): The Amphipoda of the remote oceanic archipelago Trindade and Martin Vaz (Brazil). 038887B5BD52C677FF62D179FD8CFB1B.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Latigammaropsis savioi sp. nov. concur with L. photisimilis (Ruffo, 1969) from the Red Sea and L. gemina (Myers, 1995) from Papua New Guinea, in having long lateral cephalic lobe, eyes rounded and totally encased within the lateral cephalic lobe, propodus of male gnathopod 2 rectangular with palm defined by a strong spine. However, the new species can be readily distinguished from L. photisimilis (characters for the later species in brackets) by its lateral cephalic lobe rounded (vs. cephalic lobe acute); palm of male gnathopod 2 acute, bearing subrectangular and multidentate process followed by a shallow “ U ” - shapped excavation and palmar corner provided with a robust seta (vs. palm transverse, bearing a triangular process followed by a deep “ U ” - shapped excavation and palmar corner without a robust seta); dactylus of male gnathopod 2 fitting palm (vs. dactylus overreaching palm); and distal margin of telson truncate (vs. distal margin of telson with a subtriangular process). Latigammaropsis savioi sp. nov. differs from L. gemina as follows (characters for L. gemina in brackets): eyes large (vs. small eyes); lateral cephalic lobe broad (vs. slender lobe); article 3 of mandibular palp strongly spatulate (vs. article 3 weakly spatulate); inner ramus of uropod 3 with one marginal robust seta on inner margin (vs. lacking such seta on inner margin); and lateral margin of telson with plumose setae (vs. lateral margin naked). Latigammaropsis savioi sp. nov. stands apart from L. oliveirai sp. nov. in the eyes ovate and totally encased within the cephalic lobe, male and female gnathopod 2 dissimilar to each other, propodus of male gnathopod 2 1.4. x longer than wide and with a multidentate process and a deep “ U ” - shapped excavation on palm; inner ramus of uropod 3 shorter than article 1 of outer ramus, and telson with a distal margin truncate. In contrast, in L. oliveirai sp. nov. the eyes are reniform and only partially encased within the cephalic lobe, the male and female gnathopod 2 are similar to each other, the propodus of the male gnathopod 2 is 1.9. x longer than wide and lacks the multidentate palmar process, the inner ramus of uropod 3 is subequal in length to article 1 of outer ramus, and the telson is provided with a distal subacute process.	en	Guedes-Silva, Elkênita, Souza-Filho, Jesser F., Tavares, Marcos (2025): The Amphipoda of the remote oceanic archipelago Trindade and Martin Vaz (Brazil).
