The presence of this species was recognized by Jun Souma while checking the observation records on iNaturalist. org, originally misidentified as Leptoypha wuorentausi (Lindberg, 1927) by the first author in 2021. With this identification help, the specimen was secured and subsequently sent to the senior author the same year for confirmation. This represents a successful case where citizen science platforms could positively contribute in monitoring local species diversity.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFC31F5A65C9FB81C1A7D9E8.taxon	discussion	Comments. This species was originally described based on specimens collected in Yunnan, China (a holotype male, an allotype female and 2 female paratypes). The species was later reported from Southern Japan by Nagashima & Shono (2012). Here we confirm this species from Jeju Island based on two female specimens. The Korean specimens generally fit the description of Hsiao (1964 a) and key out to M. pygmaea by using available keys of Kormilev & Heiss (1973) and Liu (1981) for Oriental / Chinese Mezira Amyot & Serville, 1843. However, despite their smaller size (~ 7.0 mm), the basal 3 antennal segments combined are slightly longer than the length of the pronotum. Due to the general scarcity of the material, we could not confidently assure the identification at the current moment. Since the Korean specimens well match with the figures in Nagashima & Shono (2012), we follow their identification. Future studies are needed to clarify the identity of the species found in Korea.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFC31F5A65C9FE99C1EDDC9C.taxon	discussion	Comments. Nagashima & Shono (2003) reported that this species is frequently found under the bark of evergreen Quercus (subgenus Cyclobanopsis) and Castanopsis species (Fagaceae). We also collected large number of individuals of various development stages under the bark of recently dead broadleaved trees, such as Quercus acuta Thunb. (Fagaceae), Castanopsis sieboldii (Makino) Hatus. (Fagaceae), and Cornus macrophylla Wall. (Cornaceae) in Jeju Island. This species is similar with Neuroctenus taiwanicus Kormilev, 1955 in Korea, but can be distinguished by having following characteristics: externally exposed area of male pygopore cordiform; paratergite VIII of females less rounded, almost trapezoidal at both posterolateral corners (Nagashima & Shono 2003).	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFC31F5B65C9F8C4C44CDD68.taxon	discussion	Comments. In East Asia, there are two species in this genus: P. japonicus Lis, 1994 from various localities in Japan and P. semialbidus (Walker, 1867) from mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan (Ishigaki, Iriomote Islands) (Lis 1999; Imura & Ishikawa 2012). The Korean specimen is a good match with the original description of P. japonicus by Lis (1994).	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFC21F5B65C9FA84C41CD858.taxon	discussion	Comments. D. evanescens is known from various localities of the Oriental region (Kerzhner 2001; Zhao et al. 2022). Although Rédei et al. (2009) expected its occurrence in Taiwan and Zhao et al. (2022) included Taiwan in its distribution range, there is still no published Taiwanese record with detailed locality information (D. Rédei, pers. comm.). Some specimens of this species had been collected in Tsushima Island and Shikoku of Japan, but the collections were not officially reported (K. Kohno, pers. comm.). We collected two specimens on light trap in Jeju Island, where tangerines are cultivated on a large scale, although whether this species was feeding on tangerine remains uncertain.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFD81F4165C9FB71C660D800.taxon	discussion	Comments. This species was first noted from Korea by Yamada (1936), and this identification was followed by later authors. Miyamoto & Lee (1966) provided supporting specimen data from Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeju Island. However, Lee et al. (1994) concluded that all previous records of G. proteus from the Korean peninsula refer to G. pallidipennis (Costa, 1843), and deleted G. proteus from the Korean fauna without stating a rationale. There are few records of G. proteus presented by faunal surveys by the Korean authors after Lee et al. (1994) but convincing evidence of the presence of this species in Korea are not available. For example, Kim (1995) noted 5 specimens of G. proteus collected from a port in Î ễae (= Docheong-ri, Buan-gun) during the survey of insects of sandy coastal areas in Byeonsan Peninsula (Jeollabuk-do), although there is no further information stated. Recent surveys in Jeju Island by the first and third author revealed that G. proteus is present in Korea, and this species should be added back to the list of Korean Heteroptera. Previous distributional records from Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do provinces need further confirmation.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDB1F4265C9FB81C19AD83C.taxon	discussion	Comments. This species was first reported from Korea by Miyamoto & Lee (1966) from 7 localities in Gyeongsang provinces and Jeju Island, under the name Lygus (Apolygus) nigronasutus (nec Stål, 1858), and subsequently reported from various subregions in South Korea (Lee & Kwon 1991, Kwon et al. 2001). However, the species concept of A. nigronasutus (nec Stål) in Korea largely followed the broad sense comprising various Apolygus species with pale green coloration before the clarification of Miyamoto (1987) and Kerzhner (1988 b). Since Apolygus species with pale green coloration are often hard to distinguish morphologically, the host plant association can be useful on species identification (Yasunaga & Yasunaga 2000). In Korea, A. nigrovirens was reported as an agricultural pest of potato (Korea Society of Plant Protection 1986, Kwon et al. 2001). However, A. nigrovirens is known as a specialist of Thermopsis lanceolata R. Br. (T. lupinoides (L.) Link in Kerzhner 1988 b, Yasunaga 2023, see POWO 2025) (Fabaceae) in the Russian Far East and Hokkaido, which grows on the sandy coastal areas (Kerzhner 1988 b, Yasunaga 1992 a, 2001, 2023). Seong (2008), in his unpublished thesis, suggested that some Korean records of A. nigrovirens are doubtful, given the rarity of the host plant in Korea. He also noted that reference specimens of A. nigrovirens deposited in National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (NIAST) identified by Y. J. Kwon is a mix of A. lucorum (Meyer-Dür, 1843), A. spinolae (Meyer-Dür, 1841), and A. watajii Yasunaga & Yasunaga, 2000. The absence of A. nigrovirens specimens collected from T. lanceolata from Korea, and subsequent misidentifications pertaining to morphologically similar species, supports the idea that this species should be excluded from the Korean fauna (Kerzhner & Josifov 1999, Kim & Jung 2019).	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDB1F4365C9F821C1DCDEA0.taxon	discussion	Comments. Ahn et al. (2018) recorded K. ryukyuensis from Korea based on a photograph of a specimen attracted to the light trap from Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon province. In the Korean Peninsula, a congeneric species K. kyushuensis (Linnavuori, 1961) is known from various subregions (Duwal et al. 2016). K. kyushuensis and K. ryukyuensis are extremely similar in morphology, and previous authors retained K. ryukyuensis as distinct species based on disjunct distribution and host plant usage (Schwartz & Stonedahl 2004). Known records of K. ryukyuensis are restricted to the Nansei Islands in Southwestern Japan, matching the distribution of its host plant, Pinus luchuensis Mayr. (Pinaceae). Furthermore, both species of Kasumiphylus exhibit color variation regarding the color of the hemelytra (Yasunaga 1999). The Korean specimen reported as K. ryukyuensis in Ahn et al. (2018) ’ s work is a dark colored individual of K. kyushuensis, thus K. ryukyuensis is deleted from the fauna of Korea.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDA1F4365C9FD9CC116DCF0.taxon	discussion	Comments. Cho et al. (2011) included N. lobatus in their key to Korean Neolygus species and Cho & Kwon (2017) included this species in their catalogue of Korean Heteroptera, both citing Yasunaga (2001 b) as a reference. Although Yasunaga (2001 b: 243) included the Korean Peninsula under the distributional section of L. lobatus, no pinpoint record from Korea exists (T. Yasunaga, pers. comm.), and later works on Asian Neolygus species (Yasunaga et al. 2012, Yasunaga 2024) only lists this species from Japan and the Russian Far East. Lacking supportive materials of this species from Korea, we exclude this species from the Korean list of Heteroptera.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDA1F4365C9FC6CC786DA94.taxon	discussion	Comments. In Korea, only the single species T. chinensis is known to date from this genus. T. koreanus, known from the Korean Peninsula and the Russian Far East, was synonymized with the former species (Kerzhner & Josifov 1999, Henry 2012). Yoon et al. (2012), Cheong (2014, 2015) reported ‘ Tytthus sp. 3, ’ ‘ Tytthus n. sp. - A, ’ and Tytthus parviceps respectively, all apparently based on two female specimens from Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do province. This identification results were later incorporated to faunal catalogues (KSAE & ESK 2021, NIBR 2019 – 2023). However, the identification is unstable in which only the dorsal habitus was presented, and ‘ diagnosis’ provided by Cheong (2014) is not sufficient to distinguish between T. chinensis and T. parviceps. According to Henry (2012), both species share extremely similar external morphology, and he treated the East Asian materials including Korea as T. chinensis. Cheong (2015) ’ s argument is not competent enough to prove the existence of T. parviceps from Korea; we exclude this species from the Korean fauna.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDD1F4465C9F989C020D8AC.taxon	discussion	Comments. Beron (2016) listed M. subtilis from North Korea and Russia citing Josifov & Kerzhner (1974) as a reference, while compiling the results of Bulgarian foreign zoological expeditions. This information was subsequently incorporated in Korean faunal lists (KSAE & ESK 2021, NIBR 2019 – 2023), although this species does not appear in any of the earlier lists of Korean Heteroptera (Lee & Kerzhner 1994; Kwon et al. 2001; Lee et al. 2013). The original text of Josifov & Kerzhner (1974) states that all materials in the type series of M. subtilis were collected from the Russian Far East. Since M. ludviki Josifov & Kerzhner, 1978, a species described in the same paper and known from both North Korea and the Russian Far East, was also included in Beron (2016) ’ s list, we suppose listing of M. subtilis from North Korea is apparently an error. Lacking subsequent studies regarding the distribution of M. subtilis after its original description, we exclude Korea from the distribution of M. subtilis.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDC1F4565C9FE99C10BDD4F.taxon	discussion	Discussion. Elasmucha signoreti Scott, 1874 and Elasmucha dorsalis (Jakovlev, 1876) are both listed in the checklist of KSAE & ESK (2021). However, Tsai & Rédei (2015) already suggested that all previous records of E. signoreti after Horváth (1909) in most parts of East Asia, including the Korean Peninsula, are misidentifications of E. dorsalis. Thus, this species needs to be excluded from the list of Korean Heteroptera.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDC1F4565C9FBDDC7D9D920.taxon	discussion	Discussion. Kment et al. (2023) noted two historical specimens (1 ♂, 1 ♀) collected in 1886 and labeled ‘ Korea, ’ deposited in the Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna. There is a possibility that this species may be distributed in Korea, considering its widespread distribution in China and Japan (Kment et al. 2023). However, no natural specimens have been observed to date (Kwon et al. 2001, Roca-Cusachs & Jung 2020) except for interception during quarantine measures on foreign vessels (single detection from vessel from China on 30. viii. 2019) (Kang et al. 2021). There are multiple cases in Korean insects in which a historical specimen was mislabeled then deposited in foreign collections, especially before the 20 th century (e. g. Hygia obscura (Dallas, 1852), described from two specimens from Java and ‘ Corea’: the Korean specimen is regarded mislabeled. see Kerzhner & Brailovsky 2003). Therefore, we regard specimens of E. fullo from Korea as of having doubtful collection label, and E. fullo is preliminarily excluded from the Korean fauna.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDC1F4565C9FD31C735DCB8.taxon	discussion	Discussion. Doi (1933) recorded Lindbergicoris gramineus (Distant, 1883) from Korea (as Elasmucha graminea Distant), but later he corrected it to Elasmucha ferrugata (Fabricius, 1787) (Doi 1935). Yamada (1936) made the Korean species list based on the documents published until 1934, which includes E. graminea. Lee (1971) listed E. graminea in the Korean fauna based on Yamada (1936), and subsequent authors has repeated L. gramineus in the Korean checklist ever since without any additional record or confirmation. Therefore, L. gramineus should be removed from the list of Korean fauna.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera). 03BD980EFFDC1F4565C9F91DC5A6D88B.taxon	discussion	Discussion. This species was first recognized from Korea by Lee (1971) and was subsequently reported from various localities in Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeollanam-do provinces (Kwon et al. 2001). However, Ishikawa & Moriya (2019) argued that P. splendens is endemic to the Ogasawara Islands in Japan, and the populations previously referred to P. splendens from mainland Japan and China belongs to a new species, Plautia himechabane Ishikawa & Moriya, 2019. The identity of the Korean specimens known as P. splendens needs future verification; P. splendens is preliminarily excluded from the list of the Korean fauna.	en	Kim, Wonwoong, Oh, Minsuk, Kim, Wongun, Ahn, Soojeong, Cho, Geonho (2025): Additions, corrections, and bibliographic issues on the Heteropteran fauna of Korea (Insecta: Hemiptera).
