03B987874913BB26DC228867AD39FEF2.taxon	discussion	Remarks The genus Blepharella appears to be similar to Takanomyia except for the hairy eyes, no ocellar setae, spinous setae simultaneously on the apical parts of the scutellum and apical portions of 3 rd – 5 th abdominal tergites, and the facial ridge always with downcurved setae. The male terminalia of both species are similar in having the posteriorly directed low epiphallus and lacking medioventral expansion of the distiphallus. Stireman et al. (2019) noted that Blepharella is the sister to a monophyletic group Pales Robineau-Desvoidy + (Palia Curran, 1927 + Datvia Richter, 1972) in their molecular-based phylogeny, though they did not include Takanomyia in their analysis. In the external morphology Pales, Palia and Datvia differ from Blepharella in having only 1 reclinate orbital seta, and the former two also differ in having hairy eyes and strong downcurved setae on the facial ridge.	en	Shima, Hiroshi, Tachi, Takuji, Zhang, Wenxia (2025): The genus Blepharella Macquart (Diptera: Tachinidae) from the Oriental Region. 03B987874917BB2FDC2A8C7BAFE5FDC9.taxon	discussion	Remarks This is a distinct species easily distinguished from other members of this genus in having dark brown wing bases. This species appears to be similar to the Japanese species B. bomolocha Shima and Tachi sp. n. because of the dark body colour and resemblance of the male terminalia. Blepharipa fuscibasis and B. bomolocha are different, in addition to the dark brownish wing base of B. fuscibasis Shima and Zhang sp. n., by the densely golden yellow pruinosity on the fronto-orbital plate, parafacial, upper postpronotal lobe and anterior 2 / 5 of the presutural scutum and parafacial distinctly shorter than parafacial in B. fuscibasis, whereas the parafacial is gradually whitish below and whitish yellow pruinosity on the postpronotal lobe and anterior 1 / 3 of presutural scutum in the male B. bomolocha, and facial length as long as fronto-orbital plate in the female of B. bomolocha.	en	Shima, Hiroshi, Tachi, Takuji, Zhang, Wenxia (2025): The genus Blepharella Macquart (Diptera: Tachinidae) from the Oriental Region. 03B98787491CBB2BDCE88B6EAFADFC03.taxon	description	This species was described in detail by Mesnil (1952, p. 236 – 237) as B. munda. The male and female terminalia were described by Shima and Tachi (2019) and the details of examined specimens and some problems about the species are also noted there. Zeegers and Majnon Jahromi (2015) recorded B. setigera Macquart from Middle East, the Palearctic Region (originally as B. setigena), which Crosskey (1984, p. 283) considered doubtfully distinct from B. lateralis Macquart. We have not examined B. setigera at this time, so the problem is left for further study. Description of puparium Length: 11 – 12 mm. A barrel-form, anterior margin slightly bigger than posterior margin; body segments 2 – 10 each with 5 – 6 rows of very fine and short anterior spinuli (not distinct in low magnifications); posterior spiracles raised from posterior surface by about 1 / 2 length of spiracle, and separated from each other by about width of spiracle; each spiracle with 3 raised bumps containing sinuated small slits on surface. 03B98787491FBB35DC318AFBAE2FFAE5.taxon	discussion	Remarks O’Hara et al. (2009) mistakenly placed this species in Takanomyia Mesnil, 1957. Although the genus resembles in many characters Takanomyia species, the latter has distinct downcurved setae on the parafacial. We think Pujorina leucaniae Chao and Jin and Isopexopsis parafacialis Sun and Chao are the same species judging from the description and figures made by these authors and from Shima’s own examination of the type specimens. We have examined two females from Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, which we first considered were females of B. leucaniae. These specimens have the wing base somewhat tinged with brown and facial structure slightly different from that of B. leucaniae. We postpone the assignment of these specimens to this species, until a corresponding male specimen can be found in this area.	en	Shima, Hiroshi, Tachi, Takuji, Zhang, Wenxia (2025): The genus Blepharella Macquart (Diptera: Tachinidae) from the Oriental Region. 03B98787490DBB3ADC268D90A860FE66.taxon	discussion	Remarks Except for the colour of the body pruinosity, this species resembles B. flavipicta Shima and Zhang sp. n. in the body structure. The male terminalia of this species resemble those of B. flavipicta Shima and Zhang sp. n., but differ from the latter in the nearly parallel-sided cerci in dorsal view and broad ventral margin of the surstylus in lateral view. These, including the difference of the body pruinosity, are enough to consider these two different species.	en	Shima, Hiroshi, Tachi, Takuji, Zhang, Wenxia (2025): The genus Blepharella Macquart (Diptera: Tachinidae) from the Oriental Region.
