Correct descriptions and illustrations of this species could also be seen in Lin (1987: 147–149; pl. 85–88, as L. cerina var. albidus), Chung (2008: 50, as L. kiusiana; 2015: 255, as L. cerina var. albidus) and Hsu & Chung (2016: 100, as L. kiusiana var. albida).

A key to L. ohwii and taxonomic confusing or morphologically similar taxa in E Asia is also provided as follow:

1. Inflorescences sometimes branched aboveground; lip unlobed, obviously cucullate (China, Japan, and Taiwan)......... L. nigricans

- Inflorescences always simple aboveground; lip obvioously 3-lobed, not cucullate..........................................................................2

2. Inflorescences 30–60 cm high; sepals 25–30 mm long; lip 20–23 mm long; column 14–15 mm long (Taiwan)................ L. cerina

- Inflorescences 10–45 cm tall; sepals 14–20 mm long; lip 13–18 mm long; column 10–12 mm long...............................................3

3. Lip not papillose along margins; multicellular hairs on mid-lobe of lip with glabrous surfaces (Japan)......................... L. japonica

- Lip minutely papillose along margins; multicellular hairs on mid-lobe of lip densely papillose near apices...................................4

4. Sepals hardly spreading; side-lobes of lip rounded at apex and denticulate in margin; mid-lobe of lip ca. 4 mm long; column distinctly trifid at apex, with column wings partially free from clinandrium (Japan and Korea)...................................... L. kiusiana

- Sepals semi-spreading; side-lobes of lip acute at apex and entire in margin; mid-lobe of lip 5–7 mm long; column subtruncate or obscurely trifid at apex, with column wings nearly entirely fusing with clinandrium (Taiwan)............................................
