Barker, S.C.</p><p>Type species: Australpavlovskyella gurneyi (Warburton, 1926), here designated.</p><p>Type depository: British Museum (Natural History) London, according to Keirans &amp; Brewster (1981).</p><p>Species: Australpavlovskyella gurneyi (Warburton, 1926) .</p><p>Material examined: Table 1.</p><p>Diagnosis: Larva without spinose zone within or near Haller’s organ; dorsal plate absent; two pairs of postcoxal setae; 11 pairs of dorsolateral setae. Adults with cheeks (digitiform-like structures), dorsoventral groove and hood; preanal and postanal groove marked; median post-anal groove intersected by the transverse post-anal groove in the middle of its origin in the anal ring, so the intersection forms a sharp angle; tarsi I–III with three dorsal humps; metatarsi I–III with poorly developed humps.</p><p>Etymology: Australpavlovskyella gen. nov. is named in allusion to the geographical distribution of the species, which is restricted to Australasia.</p><p>Distribution: Australia.</p><p>ZooBank: The Life Science Identifier (LSID) for Australpavlovskyella gen. nov.
