Type locality. Off Ivory Coast (5°10.3’N, 4°05’W), West Africa, 80 m.
Type material. Holotype USNM 760629; paratype USNM 760631 (1 spm, posterior fragment).
Remarks. Scheltema (1976) recorded that the description of this species was based on examination of two entire specimens (holotype USNM 760629 and paratype USNM 760630) and a fragment of a third animal (paratype USNM 760631). The radula and the sclerites were extracted from paratype USNM 760630 (Scheltema, 1976: figs. 1, 2, pl. 1a–h), but neither slides, pin stubs or the remaining body parts of this specimen were located in the collection of the USNM.
