Type:— Cystodermella granulosa (Batsch: Fries) Harmaja (2002:43).
Based on (Harmaja 2002; Saar 2018): Basidiomata tricholomatoid, solitary or gregarious, universal veil present. Pileus convex or plane, surface finely to coarsely granulose. Lamellae variably attached, white to pale cream or yellowish buff. Stipe silky striate at top, with evanescent floccose-scaly ring zone, below minutely to coarsely granulose-floccose with veil remnants. Smell indistinct or musty-earthy. Taste mild, indistinct to unpleasant. Spore deposit white to pale cream. Basidiospores ellipsoid to oblong, smooth, without germ pore, hyaline, inamyloid. Cystidia absent in most species, but not all (see descriptions below). Pileipellis an epithelium. Outer velar layer on pileus and stipe formed by chains of inflated globose to ellipsoid sphaerocysts. Clamps present. Saprotrophic, on soil, among moss and litter, rarely on rotten wood, mostly in forests, but also in open areas.
