2.5.12 Okeanomyces marinus

Okeanomyces marinus is an asexual fungus collected in Thailand (in Hyde et al. 2020a). This is the second species in the genus along with the type species O. cucullatus . The asexual stage of O. cucullatus is Periconia proli fi ca (Pang et al. 2004). Okeanomyces marinus is morphologically similar to P. proli fi ca and P. abyssa but differs from P. proli fi ca in lacking hyaline erect conidiophores and from P. abyssa in having smaller conidia (in Hyde et al. 2020a). In the same study, O. marinus formed a monophyletic group with isolates of O. cucullatus and P. proli fi ca based on a combined analysis of 18S and 28S rDNA.
