20. Trypetoptera Hendel, 1900 (New record)

Trypetoptera Hendel, 1900: 352 . Type species: Musca punctulata Scopoli, 1763 (monotypy).
Diagnosis. Small with grey body. Arista mostly with long plumose hairs. Anepisternum always setulose, often with a vertical row of elongated setulae. Anepimeron with 3–5 weak setae. 2 subalar setae present. Wing dark brown with many large pale spots.
Remarks. This genus comprises only 2 described species: Trypetoptera canadensis (Macquart, 1844), restrict- ed to the Nearctic Region, and T. punctulata (Scopoli, 1763), restricted to the Palearctic Region.
Before our study, Trypetoptera had never been recorded from China. We determined 31 males and 12 females of T. punctulata, all from Xingjiang (Palearctic Region of China). This is the first record of Trypetoptera from China.
