Aculepeira Chamberlin & Ivie, 1942
Type species. Aculepeira packardi (Thorell, 1875)
Diagnosis. Following Levi (1991), females of Aculepeira are recognized by having epigyne with a pointed scape, lacking a pocket at the tip (Figs 13C, D, 14B, C), while males have median apophysis bearing two flagella at its proximal end, boat- to disc-shaped conductor and conductor lobe absent (Figs 12C, D, 14A).
