Material examined. CHINA: Sichuan Province: 1 ♂, Emeishan City, Emei Mountain, 800–900 m, 28. VIII. 2005, coll. Hongzhang Zhou; 1 ♂, Luding County, Hailuogou, Qingshibangou, 2471 m, 17. V. 2009, coll. Yulingzi Zhou.
Measurements. BL = 6.9 mm, BW = 1.4 mm, HL/PL/EL = 1.00: 1.19: 1.48, HW/PW/EW/AW = 1.00: 1.14: 1.36: 1.19, HW/HL = 1.06, HEL/HTL = 6.49, PW/PL = 1.02, EW/EL = 0.98, ESL/EL = 0.59.
Distribution. Quedius torrentum Smetana is distributed in the mountains of southwestern China (Hubei, Sichuan and Yunnan Province), at altitudes from 1550 m to 2890 m. The examined specimens were collected at the edges of small creeks.
