Lysmata rauli Laubenheimer & Rhyne, 2010: 299, figs. 1–3.

Material examined. Brazil, São Paulo: 1 ind, CCDB 3925 , São Vicente, estuary, coll. R. Costa, x.2009 .

Distribution. Indo-West Pacific—Mozambique to Hong Kong, Russia, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Bahia and São Paulo) (Barnard, 1955; Chace 1997; Ahyong 2010; Laubenheimer & Rhyne, 2010; Marin et al. 2012; Soledade et al. 2013).

Previous records. São Vicente (Soledade et al. 2013).

Remarks. The species was introduced in Brazilian waters (Soledade et al. 2013), and possibly, in New Zealand (Ahyong 2010). However, L. vittata is a possible species complex (Soledade et al. 2013; Pachelle et al. 2016), and since the taxonomic identity of L. vittata remains uncertain, the identity of the Brazilian material also remains doubtful. Genetic studies might confirm the identification of the Brazilian specimens (Pachelle et al. 2016); unfortunately, the genes of this species have not been successfully amplified in this study.
