Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina, Florida), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro to Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, Argentina (Christoffersen 1979; 1998).

Previous records. Several stations along the coast of São Paulo sampled by the R/Vs Calypso, Emília and Wladimir Besnard (see Christoffersen 1979); São Sebastião Channel (Pires-Vanin et al. 1997; Arasaki et al. 2004); locality not mentioned (Christoffersen 1998).
