When the genus Coridophora Schmitz was synonymised with Puliciphora (Disney, 2002) this created a homonym with Puliciphora nigriventris Bohart (1947), a synonym of P. pulex Dahl. I therefore rectify this by renaming the species P. edaphomyia, the name of the genus to which this species was originally assigned, but which was subsequently synonymised with Coridophora (Disney, 1982) .
