Material examined. MFM 145610, MFM 145611 and five other referred specimens.

Remarks. Although MFM145610 lacks the rostrum and six other specimens are chelipeds, their features match those of Tymolus uncifer (Ortmann, 1892) . The fossil specimens are known from the Lower Pleistocene Soga and Hijikata formations of Kakegawa Group (Karasawa 1993, 1997; Kitamura & Shiba 2008). The extant species is known around Japanese coasts (e.g., Takeda 2001; Spiridonov & Türkay 2007).
