Type materials. P. indicus . Type male from INDIA: Maharashtra: Pune (=Poona)(18°31’13.55’’N, 73°51’24.28’’E), 565 m alt.; E. Simon leg.; date unknown; repository unknown (probably MNHN, Paris), not examined. P. ixodinus . Type female from INDIA: Uttarakhand: Konain (2377 m (7800 ft) alt.) and Mundali (2438 m (8000 ft) alt.); F. Gleadow leg.; date unknown; repository unknown (probably NHM, London), not examined .
Note. According to Platnick (1976), the synonymy of P. ixodinus with P. indicus was wrongly judged by Pocock (1900) and the former species might be valid. Since we could not examine the types of both species, we are unable to confirm this and thus could not suggest any taxonomical changes.
