Diagnosis. Metacarp about 4× its distance from apex of marginal cell; inner spur of hind tibia markedly longer than outer one; postscutellum with an emargination between its middle point and forwarding-pointing projection, phragma exposed; scutellar sulcus reduced to a fine groove in which there is no obvious foveolation; apical part of T1 and T2 strongly to weakly rugose; T3 virtually entirely smooth, shiny; T1 markedly narrowing towards apex; T2 more transverse; hind coxa almost infuscate more or less throughout; antenna rather more noticeably longer than body compared with P. laetus; ovipositor sheath shorter, only 3/4 length of hind basitarsus; and ocelli small, distance between fore and a hind ocellus slightly greater than diameter of hind ocellus.

( Elachistidae) (Yu et al., 2012).
Distribution. China (Fujian, Guizhou, Ningxia, Zhejiang) new record; Austria, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia.
Note. This species is recorded from China for the first time. Characteristics of the specimens examined here mostly agree with the description of Nixon (1973) and Papp (1983), except for the punctures on mesoscutum deeper.
