Wiedemannia mirousei Vaillant, 1956: 11 . Type locality: L’Arac, France (Pyrénées ariégoises et à 750 m d’altitude).

Type material examined. LECTOTYPE ♁ by present designation (slide mounted): L’Arac, Pyrénées [France], 750 m, 30.VII.1952, (GBIFCH00603176) (MZLS). Two males on slide, lectotype encircled in red (Fig. 6a, b) . PARALECTOTYPES: France. 1 ♁, on lectotype slide GBIFCH00604448); 5 ♁, L’Arac, Pyrénées, 750 m, 30.VII.1952, L’Arac, Pyrénées, 750 m (GBIFCH00603175); 2 ♁, L’Arac, Pyrénées, 750 m, 30.VII.1952 (GBIFCH00603177); 3 ♁ L’Arac, Pyrénées, 750 m, 30.VII.1952 (GBIFCH00603178) (all in MZLS) .

Additional material examined. France. 3 ♁, Déversoir du Lac Pavin, près Besse en Chandesse (Puy de Dome), 28.VII.1952 (GBIFCH00603174) (MZLS). There are further specimens on slides without date and site of collection .

Remarks. Vaillant (1956) listed 13 specimens examined in his description of this species, but did not designate a holotype (Fig. 6d). By an error in the text and figure captions, the species was mentioned as Wiedemannia rhynchops ssp. alpina in Vaillant (1965). The species is probably endemic to the Pyrenees or the Iberian Peninsula.
