Distribution. Europe, Transcaucasian area.

Distribution in Serbia. N (V), C, and E (2; 21–23; 27).

Remarks. Additionally, Mikšić & Georgijević (1971) reported the species from Serbia, but didn’t provide any further data on the locality. The findings in the country are scarce since the imago flies around tree canopies and is hard to be catched. It can be collected in wine traps as well.

*58. Pedostrangalia (Neosphenalia) verticalis (Germar, 1822)

Examined material. None.

Distribution. Balkan Peninsula.

Distribution in Serbia. Serbia, without precise locality (3).

Remarks. Althoff & Danilevsky (1997) reported the taxon from Serbia, but without any additional data on the precise finding. From the distribution map in Bense (1995), the presence of the species in Serbia is located in its southeastern part. The finding in Serbia is suspicious, but it may be expected in the southern part since it is recorded in surrounding areas (Bulgaria, Romania, Albania) (Ilić 2005).
