Filellum serratum (Clarke, 1879)
(fig. 4H, I)
Lafoëa serrata Clarke, 1879: 244, pl. 4 fig. 25.
Filellum serratum ― Peña Cantero et al., 1998: 304, figs 1, 2.
Material examined. Stn.9: 21.11.2009, 21 m—numerous hydrothecae creeping on surface of worm tubes and stems of Halecium tenellum Hincks, 1861 . Stn.12: 30.11.2009, 12–15 m—rare hydrothecae on worm tube and stems of Sertularia tongensis (Stechow, 1919) . Stn.20: 26.11.2009, 20 m—numerous hydrothecae on hydrorhiza of Pennaria disticha Goldfuss, 1820 .
Remarks. Though sterile, the present material is assigned to Clarke’s (1879) species partly on the account of the presence of numerous close-set ridges on the abaxial wall of the adnate part of hydrothecae, and partly on the Caribbean origin of the type.
Caribbean records. Off Grenada (Fraser 1943).
World distribution. See Peña Cantero et al. (1998).
