Type material examined
NEW CALEDONIA: holotype, ♂, Yiambi, NE, [- 20,47008164,70042], 500–700 m, 14 Oct. 1967 (BPBM).
Taxonomic notes
Arsipoda yiambiae and A. paniensis sp. nov. are the only species with a pronotum clearly convex laterally (Figs 4F, 5F), but they are clearly different in color and size: A. paniensis sp. nov. is dark green, metallic, and larger; A. yiambiae is yellow and smaller. Genitalia are also easily distinguishable (Figs 9D, 10C, 11K, R). Median lobe of aedeagus slender (Fig. 10C); parallel in ventral view, distinctly enlarged at basal third, with triangular apical part; ventral sulcus thin and shallow; in lateral view median lobe curved at basal third, then straight; dorsal ligula narrow, fusiform. Spermatheca (Fig. 11R) with rounded basal part; collum very elongate (as long as basal part); length of apical part about half as long as collum; ductus elongate, thickset, apically inserted.

Distribution
Collected in Northern and Central Grande Terre (Fig. 15A).
