Subgenus Megapes n. subgen.
Diagnosis. Excretory pore fused with dorsal shield. IV-legs of the male very strong, with asymmetrical claws (one larger than the other). First leg segments stocky. Dorsal margins of II-leg-4-5 and III-leg-4-5 with numerous small setae.
Type species: Javalbia uncinata n. sp.
Remarks. As in members of the subgenus Javalbiopsis, the excretory pore is fused to the dorsal shield. However, the unusually strong IV-legs of the male with the large, asymmetrical claws are not found in Javalbiopsis nor in any other Javalbia species.
Etymology. Named for the large claws.
