Diagnosis. Species of Eutichurus differ from those of other Eutichuridae genera by the following combination of characters: cephalothorax not strongly sclerotized; robust legs, with femur I only slightly longer than the carapace length (see Ramírez, 2014: fig. 47E); thoracic fovea absent or represented by a shallow mark (see Bonaldo, 1994: fig. 1); male palpal cymbium without retro-basal spur, tegulum with median apophysis and simple conductor, without fulcrum (Figs 1, 9, 58; Bonaldo, 1994: figs 10, 11); female epigynum with a well-defined median field and conspicuous lateral lobes, which present a pair of anterior projections converging posteriorly and a pair of protruding posterior plates (divided or sutured medially) (Figs 7, 18, 52; Bonaldo, 1994: figs 16, 53, 68).
