" Myopella puncticeps R. D."
A male of Myopa buccata (Linnaeus, 1758) . The specimen is well preserved.
The specimen bears the following labels: (1) "M. / puncticeps / & / coll. Big." [round, white label]; (2) " TYPE " [red writing]; (3) " Myopella / puncticeps R. D." [lightblue label].
This specimen was determined and labelled by RobineauDesvoidy and is evidently a syntype of Myopella puncticeps RobineauDesvoidy, 1853: 99 100. Since this specimen appears to be the only known syntype of Myopella puncticeps it is herewith designated lectotype and the following label has been added: " Lectotypus / Myopella puncticeps / RobineauDesvoidy, 1853 / des. Stuke & Clements, 2005" [red label, printed].
Chvála & Smith (1988) gave the name as Myopella punctipes RobineauDesvoidy, 1853, presumably in error. However, their proposed synonymy of this taxon with Myopa buccata (Linnaeus, 1758) is supported.
