"Dalmania [sic!] meridionalis R. D.”

A male of Dalmannia aculeata (Linnaeus, 1761) . The right rear and middle legs are missing, but otherwise the specimen is well preserved.

The specimen bears the following labels: (1) "D. / meridionalis / coll. Big." [round, white label]; (2) "Dalmania / meridionalis R. D." [lightblue label].

This specimen was determined and labelled by RobineauDesvoidy and can therefore be interpreted as a syntype of Dalmannia meridionalis RobineauDesvoidy, 1830: 249 . Since this specimen appears to be the only known syntype of Dalmannia meridionalis it is herewith designated lectotype and the following label has been added: " Lectotypus / Dalmannia meridionalis / RobineauDesvoidy, 1830 / des. Stuke & Clements, 2005" [red label, printed].

The synonymy with Dalmannia aculeata (Linnaeus, 1761) proposed by Chvála & Smith (1988) is supported.
