Hosts. Poaceae: Paspalum * pubiflorum Rupr. ex Fourn., P. setaceum Michx. The exact identity of the Florida specimens reared from Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop., Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn., Panicum miliaceum L. and Zea mexicana (Schrad.) Kuntze remains to be determined (Spencer & Stegmaier 1973).

Leaf mine. Broad, whitish, linear (Spencer 1973; Spencer & Steyskal 1986).

Puparium. Pale, yellowish-brown; formed within the mine, its long, black anterior spiracles projecting through the epidermis (Spencer 1973; Spencer & Steyskal 1986).

Distribution. USA: FL, *OK, SC; Bahamas; Brazil; Dominica; Jamaica.
