Genus Arocatus Spinola, 1837

Diagnosis. Head with a distinct, tumid postocular portion, eyes separated from anterior margin of pronotum but not stalked; distiflagellum at most slightly longer than (0.8–1.3 times as long as) pedicel; scutellum with a distinct Tshaped carina, adjacent lateral foveae with large, coarse, confluent punctures; metathoracic scent gland provided with well developed, protruding peritreme; fore femur unarmed (Péricart 1999, Gao et al. 2013).
Distribution and diversity. The genus is distributed in the Palaearctic, Afrotropical, Oriental and Australian Regions and currently contains 18 described species (Gao et al. 2013). An additional new species is described below.
