TYPE LOCALITY: Mauritania, Aouker Region, S of Archane Titarek .

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.

COMMENTS: Type species of Monodia, but according to Lay (1983) the diagnostic traits do not warrant generic distinction.
