DISTRIBUTION: NE Sierra Leone, Liberia, SE Guinea, and W Ivory Coast, west of the Sassandra River (see map in Carleton and Robbins, 1985:990).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Typomys . Part of the murine fauna endemic to W Africa (see account of Grammomys buntingi).
